Home stores carry closet racks which are not the big or expensive.
Yes - you can get the simple Ikea closet rack, OR if you're in the mood to DIY, make a simple one out of wood on the sides and a metal dowel in the middle. You can chalk paint the wood and it can actually look amazing. Also, for small bedrooms, floating shelves around the perimeter of the room is a great way to store things and keep them off the ground. Do you have under the bed storage!
Yes, you can get fairly inexpensive cabinets/closets at places like Ikea and Orchard Supply. I have found that the sturdy wire racks that can be purchased at Home Depot or Lowes are very versatile. The shelves are completely adjustable. I have too many clothes for my tiny home with very little closet space, so I assembled one of these for my spare room. I put the lower shelves close together to put boxes of shoes on, then left the upper portion open with the uppermost shelf at the highest setting. I use that for my hanging clothes. You can adapt this kind of shelving to the kind of clothing you have. Put an attractive throw over the top if you want to keep things out of sight.
I moved into a very small cape with no closet space. Having had a walk in and very large closets in my last house I was at a loss for ideas. I continued to search tag sales, Craigslist and used furniture stores for an armoire/entertainment center I could convert into closet space. I found one through an estate sale company for $40!! It was an entertainment center originally and I use the shelves at the bottom and top for pants, etc. I was able to make my own hanging rod with cup hooks screwed underneath where the dvd player would be housed and bought a $5 curtain rod to hang shirts. Doors are always closed so it appears to be a beautiful cabinet that has increased my storage and made my life much easier
You can assemble a hanging rack using metal pipe, elbows and umbrella braces you find in any home improvement store. You want to use the outdoor shade umbrella bases instead of flanges as it will provide a broader base for support
Small bedrooms can be wonderfully cozy. Use an old tall t.v. cabinet as a closet by adding a pole for hanging items. If you utilize light colored linens and curtains, the room will feel more spacious. Best of luck.
