Make a solution with baking soda and lemon into a paste.Apply to the rust stain and leave on overnight.
If your tub is white there is a product Whink that works like magic. I say white, because the bottle recommends using it on mainly white. Our well water has a lot of iron and even though we have a water softener and an iron curtain we still get the pink/orange stains. That stuff takes in out literally in the whink of an eye ;) You should be able to find it at Walmart.
Whink is a great product. But you could try hydrogen peroxide and a rag. Best of luck.
