How big is your door? What is it made out of? Does it need to be completely solid so they can't see anything?
Depending on your answers - could you add wood slats to it? Or cover it with an outdoor fabric?
Attach a piece of plywood.
Paint it
You could attach some corrugated aluminum or steel to the gate to block the view. Or a woven bamboo curtain of some sort. Or even an old bedsheet draped over the gate and fastened with snaps- then its washable, too. Or use a squirt bottle or squirt gun every time the dogs bark, some of the barking might be a training issue.
I had the same problem and I purchased an American flag banner and intermove it through the fence slats. Looks good and does the job.
The bigger dogs are sometimes outside, so whatever is on the gate would have to be something the one dog can't get and chew. The corrugated aluminum is a great idea! I have used a viny table cloth inside the slats also. lasted a couple days. Thanks for the tip! And it's just the one chihuahua that barks. He thinks he's the alpha. Lol. The big dogs just kind of look at him. I'm sure he doesn't know his size compared to the others. All our dogs are pretty laid back. Except him.
