go to a site call Pinterest, tones of ideas. Once you start you can't stop.
The ideas a limitless. First decide what you want the headboard to do for you and then proceed. My headboard has a shelf for decoration and for my "after I go to bed items and do not want to get up" Above that is a fantastic pastel drawing of some beautiful horses. The pastel art draws the eye away from my other junk on the shelf. I find the traditional headboards a wash of good space. So be creative....you may have to live with it for a long time.
quickest and simplest: Get a piece of plywood and cut to your dimensions. Might want to get help with the cutting of the plywood depending on how familiar you are with tools. Rest you can do yourself. Get foam and glue to the board. Get fabric you will enjoy and using a staple gun designed for wood, staple the fabric to the board on the back. Board can then me nailed to wall or possibly to bed frame. This is a plain and simple fix. But one most women can do. And it won't be expensive either. Hope you find what you want! :)
Need to clarify...fabric is played over the foam and then stapled to the back where they are not seen.
