Amazing What a Little Paint Will Do

My patio table has not aged well. The weather caused the sealer to peel and when I had it power washed it really became a mess. I took a few hours to sand it down and it looked nice however I did not want the dark wood finish.
I dug through the left over paint cans and chose a pale blue left from the porch ceiling. I painted on a thin coat and wiped it off. Nope still not it. I chose a can of off white the siding color and painted on a very thin coat. I left it to dry and used the sander to lightly sand down the finish and areas to show wear.
When I was satisfied with the finish I painted a coat of poly on and fell in love with the finished table top. The poly brought out the different tones in the wood. I can't wait till tomorrow to accent my table with plants and tray.
This is a close up of the finished paint treatment.
Before the poly coat. I am very happy with the finish, looks like pickling or white wash.
Table top before I started. The finish is peeling and chipping. Very rough and extrememly ugly.
Beginning the sanding process on the left. The right is how the table looked after the power wash, pretty sad.
