If you have a Costco or Sam's Club, at this time of year they sell beautiful giganic plants in pots for a reasonable price. I was at Sam'on Sunday and they had some with geraniums, another big one with a small tree and succulents. Home Depot had something similar too. Easy, just point and pay. My girlfriend picked up 2 jumbo mums in decent plastic urns to place on either side of her front door. We both have had luck with those. Deadhead when blooms are spent, keep well watered and fertilized when necessary. In the fall she puts those out in the garden and does a fall arrangement. She has a beautiful section of mums that come back every year in many beautiful colors. Be mindful of which way your house faces too. Will dictate what type of flowers will thrive in your space.
