When do I trim my rose bush

  • What do mean by "trim?" Typically they are prunned back in late winter to early spring depending upon where you live. Mine were prunned back in early February and my first blooms popped 2 or 3 days ago, but I am in Southern California. Now I deadhead when blooms are spent and by August one of the bushes the canes grow up past the roof line and I will then cut those back a bit.


    If you are still unsure, check with a good nursery in your area to determine what is best for the type of roses you may have.

    Roses should be pruned before any new growth appears or in the fall after flowering has stopped.
