I have used Angie's list to find people and have been very satisfied.
I agree! Homeadvisor is free and a lot of contractors pay a fee to be placed on top of the list. They aren't always the best. Friends had bad experiences. You can also get a referral from Home Depot. They have a book of contractors that purchase from them.
Angie's list and HomeAdviso. Also I am a member of my neighborhokd network and I
have asked the group about that kind of thing in the past. I've also stopped at neighbors homes who I see are doing some work and talked to them about who they are using.
Angie's list - it's free to join and you can type in the type of contractor you're looking for and then read reviews from there.
Talk to your neighbors and ask who they can recommend.
If you join the Next Door community, you can post your questions there for referrals.
Good luck!
Talk to your neighbor's ask if they have any idea's. That does two things you actually get to talk to people and get to know them
