it’s hard to think of the best traditional gift because every region has its own

How about Googling? I find all kinds of info that way. It may take severl tries and different word combinations, but I always come up with something.
why would you want to send something they go get themselves i would send them something they do not have there but thats me
make some pretty note cards and matching envelopes. That way they can send you letters!
I think with the price of postage the best idea is to send a check or a gift card.
