How do you grow summer squash, zucchini and cucumbers in Central F?

I am having no luck with these. Can it be they are not pollinating? The fruit sets, but then dies, even after removing the flower from the end so there is no end rot, but it happens anyway.

Those vegetables need cross pollination to produce fruit.

There is a type of moth that lays eggs on these plants. When the eggs hatch the larvae start burrowing into the stems and vegetable and kills it. Since you said the squash, etc. starts to grow, the problem isn't pollination. I think you have pests. Look up "Squash End Blossom Rot" (doesn't just affect squash) to learn about the larvae that causes this. I use a biological spray (organic method) to kill these pests. Good luck.
