How can make old glass interesting?

Heard there was something easy to spray on glass shelves that had better days and it would look amazing - vinegar or something else, I forgot.

You can use vinegar to clean it and give it back its shine- if you want to give it a whole new look, use a glass spray paint to re-do them! Have fun!
They also make glass liquid wax that you can buff to a nice finish,
You could also get a spray to give the glass a frosted look.
if the glass is scratched up, fosting the glass or using a treatment to give it an old mirror finish might look nice.
