I need two end tables and have nothing. Any inexpensive ideas ?

If you wanted to build one you could use pallets which you should be able to get for free. Or try a second hand store/ goodwill

Upside down wire trash can painted to match your décor. Try the dollar stores. Or a two-drawer secondhand file cabinet painted to match your décor plus you get storage with it!
Depending upon your décor, just use your imagination in choosing a "bottom" (a tree stump, tall urn, etc.). Top it with a piece of thick glass for the top.
Craigslist has freebies, use the top of something and choose any base (see above suggestions) paint to unify. Best time is the weekend when there is a lot of yard sale leftovers.
