Hi, I am needing advice for plants or shrubs that will grow in shade

This is for planting by our front porch. We had all the old shrubs dug up last fall.

    hydrangeas, Jerusalem sage, lily of the valley, toad lily, hostas - all good potential options!

    probably best you visit your local garden centre as they will understand your weather conditions and be able to give you a variety of options for size, colour etc. You also need to consider watering options etc.

    it.Hostas you can get in so many leaf sizes and colour variations, they thrive in shade. You can put bigger leaf ones in the back and then tiny leaf ones in the front. Lily of the Valley can take over if you do not watch them carefully.
