How do you get rid of sink/drain flies?
I would like to know how to get rid those pesty little sink/drain flies. I've tried baking soda and vinegar, drain cleaners and put plastic over the drains.
In Ohio we have Osage Apples, not really apples, that spiders hate. My sister lays them around her basement and under her porch. Maybe you have them in your area.
I can help once you get rid of them. Spiders (and mice) hate peppermint. Get some peppermint oil the strongest you can find (Amazon) essential oil and sprinkle it where the spiders hang out. My bathroom used to be loaded with them. I got rid of them by spraying them with bug killer. For the huge nasty ones I said the hell with it and hit them with oven cleaner and stomping them when they fell to the floor, make sure to wipe up ASAP. You could try PAM, Clorox or bathroom cleaner. I don't have a live in spider killer so desperate times call for desperate measures.
Figure out what they are eating and get rid of that first. They make a product called spider away try that. Or get an old shop vac and suck them up. I keep one on my front porch for hornets.
I just scoop them up with the dustpan and take outside. I have had itsy bitsy spiders come down on me while reading in bed so for those of you that suffer with arachnophobia, I suppose it would freak you out. I just open the window and let them out. Then spray the popcorn ceiling with some alcohol. Cheap and easy, if the surface allows, wipe down with a liberal amount. I did do the Windex trick - remember My Big Fat Greek Wedding? It works . . .
