This varies by area, in terms of price, but yes - should last. Would you consider painting yourself? That would save even more!
Before I would spend the money, I would look at how old the appliances are and if they will last the 5 years that you are asking the paint to last. Sometimes replacing a piece at a time is a better way to go than spending lots of money on paint only to have it fail soon.
I agree with FarmKids regarding the age of the appliances but I also would take it a step further and try using Rustoleum appliance paint in stainless steel. We made the switch as each appliance died and our dishwasher was the last unit left with a white face which stuck out like a sore thumb. I checked on getting a new face in a stainless steel finish only to be told it would cost $229! I figured it couldn't hurt to try and am glad I did!
I would recommend not to paint the appliances. Save the time and effort and money. If the appliances are old and fail shortly after you paint it would be disheartening.
