Squirrels destroy hummingbird feeders
They're addicted to the nectar and destroy the colorful plastic feeders the birds are attracted to. Any sure-fired way to keep them off the sheperd's hook support?

You could DIY any variety of fountain and put these perches near it! I love this one:

DiY Hummingbird Perch
DIY Garden Fountain
It is not so much a fountain for hummingbirds as it is attracting the hummingbirds to your yard. Put plants around such as Cuprea,Salvia, anything with a lot of nectar.
You must have plants that attach Hummers to your yard ones have a cuplike flower or nectar sweetness, also provide a perch for them near the feeder(s). I have a clothes line near one of my feeders and every morning I find one little bird, waking up or preening on it and then off to the feeder it goes, which is next to the line. Also you can use a wire hanger near the feeder. You will find they will sit near the feeder. If you put up multiple feeders, beware you may have an alpha male who does not like to share. Try Bleeding heart, petunias, flowers that are bright in color.
