I love finding antique sideboards that just need a little TLC with some new paint and stain... I took this old sideboard, stripped the finish off the top, and re-stained it as well as painted the body with Old Ochre Chalk Paint and hand-detailing on the doors of the cabinet for a fresh, new look...

Dolores DeLuise on Jan 19, 2014very beautiful color; great vision for such an ordinary piece. I agree with Elizabeth about the detail--it seems a bit bright for the rest of the piece. Something should go there, but the brightness of it it is abrupt. Did you use the wax after the chalk paint?

Dolores DeLuise on Jan 19, 2014I also like that you did the back piece in the paint. I saw something similar recently that left the back piece in the original wood and it looked awkward.
