clear plastic tote or under bed boxes on wheels. If you haven't touched or used an item from under the stairs for a year....ask your self...do I really need this? Who ever would use it won't find it if you don't donate it to a charity or consignment shop.
Can you provide a picture of the area?
Rolling bins clearly labeled and some hooks next to the wall to hang things
You can simply build wood cubbies... from top to bottom. You can also stack wood or plastic crates...that way they end up appearing to be shelves and place your items in them for easy access. Another way to do it... Buy at the store or find one at a garage sale, one of those rolling cart storage units...the ones with plastic drawers in them, and allow simple access that way. I agree with you that storing things under the stairs and out of eyesight is wonderful, but only if it is not a pain to go get those same items, each time you need something. I'm interested to see everyone else has suggestions for you, for myself as well!
