Can you use normal paint instead of chalk paint?

Chalk paint can be quite dear, can you use normal paint as well. ty

You can! It just requires some more work, sanding, priming, ect. But it shouldnt be a problem, have fun!
Yes. If you are wanting the distressed look of chalk paint, put a little petroleum jelly in the spots you want to sand. Let it dry and paint. Sanding off in those spots will be easier.
