Pam Breen on Jan 07, 2014several years back I did this...it was beautiful...the one thing I did that was so pretty was , on one wall, was make it look as if I HAD had a brick wall that the plaster was falling of off....it was very easy...I did it myself....you can buy thin bricks from Lowes, then I decorated with wine bottles and vines and on my window I put a big curtain rod with long beads draped along the length of it....and instead of a pot rack hanging from the ceiling I used what looked like an old ladder, but I made it from 2x2's and painted it to look old, hung baskets and whatever I had on it, vines too....good luck, have funHelpful Reply

Barbara on Jan 07, 2014Get dried grape vines, take off leaves and hang in swag style in kitchen. I have done this and added nice looking artificial grapes in various colors with leaves. Leave on the curly-q stems! I have a "live well laugh often" plaque with grapes on it, that I incorporated into the swag. Have fun and enjoy!Helpful Reply

Accentuations! on Jan 08, 2014Wow! this is right up my alley! I am the Grape/Vineyard Queen! LOL! My entire house is (in a very subtle way) all Tuscan/Vineyard themed. My open kitchen has grape vine running up the two walls on either side - the vines and branches all meet at the top of the vaulted ceiling. The collect dust so a vac with a looonnngg hose helps. I change them out once a year. If you have a vineyard near you I am sure they would be happy to give you vines cut at the end of the season. Above all my cabinets I have wine boxes, old grape harvesting crates and Tuscan pottery--all surrounded by small vines wrapped with little LED lights and some gorgeous grapes....shall I go on? LOL! Let me know if you want more ideas! Have a blast doing this!Helpful Reply

Diane Woods on Jan 08, 2014I think I'd look for some old wine barrels to do something with in the room also. I've seen some barrel type of plant holders that might work cost effectively that you can get at a flea market or Old Time Pottery if you have one. There are clocks, tables, pot racks, chandeliers and even dog bowl holders on Pinterest. You can make faux wine barrel lids to use as a tray with some wood planks, stain, stenciling and handles to add to the decor.Helpful Reply
