Biting Ants- How can I get rid of them?

I have tiny blackish ants in my garden beds that bite and it's worse than a mosquito bite. They are not red ants. I have literally been covered with them before. Any idea how to get rid of them?

Apply food grade diatomaceous earth in your yard and garden.

My Mother always poured a kettle full of boiling water into their nests. OK if no plants nearby.

  No it is an ant killer that really works. You sprinkle a little on the hill and the ants carry them into the hill and it kills the queen and the other ants so they don't come back. It even works on fire ants.

I have been bit by black ants and I know the hurt they can give. My suggestion would be trying mint. Put mint in your garden, mint oil on your self when out in the garden, mint wherever you see ant, flys, etc. Hope that will be of help to you.
