Maybe some kind of terrarium?
how big are the rocks? If they are small put them in a glass cylinder layered with fake green moss from the craft store. If big put them in a special place in your garden. The rocks I have are very different in shape, color and size so I put them in one place in my flower bed. That doesn't get dug up every year. When I moved I took them along with the new rocks I added while I lived there. Nice memories displayed naturally. When the movers picked up the box with my treasures, he said what's in this box, rocks? If he only knew!
I found this idea on another site and its a great little project. Take the larger rock, paint it one color. Choose five smaller rocks and paint them different colors then arrange them to look like a foot print. There are other things that you can paint with rocks: ladybugs, frogs and turtles. Let your imagination run. Hope this helps.
Use them to make a mosaic and hang it on the wall. I had rocks from every state that I visited so I made a map of the usa and glued them to the state that they came from. It made a nice picture in the library and I could tell my grand children about the adventure that went along with the rock.
I have my rocks in a rock garden by the back door. Quite a lot of different type rocks in one place, it would drive a geologist mad.......I also have a basket on my hearth with several special rocks in it. My husband has learned in fifty plus years that we always come home from trips heavier than we left. He just smiled when the TSA person questioned the rocks in my luggage on a return flight from Hawaii.
