You should first remove the rust with a wire brush, and then excess paint with quality steel wool. Then clean the surface and paint!
Roughen it with medium sand paper. Paint it with Rustolium outdoor paint spray.
You can 2 tone it with a shadow color on the edges.
First you need to remove the rust with a wire brush. After you sand it with a 120 grit sand paper and finally, you apply the paint.
Appliance paint works well.
