Crafts for Bricks- what can I do with them?

Louise
by Louise
I have found several bricks...they are 10" long , 2 3/4" wide and 2 3/4" deep. They have 6 holes in them that are rectangular shaped --1" x 1 1/4. Red color. I do not what to build something with them, stick plants in their holes or paint them to look like bookends or books...I would like to do pieces of art with them by adding something to them maybe by putting something in each hole. They would be a free standing "something". I am sorry that I do not have the ability to send photographs....so I guess the best visual I can give you is a brick with 6 rectangular holes and that is it. Thanks so much.

Kinda off cuff as I read your question > Keep the brick with holes up. On the opposite side of the holes glue on some kind of FELT or durable fabric. IN the holes, put in a beautiful (but small) arrangement of Dollar Store Flowers and use as a DOOR STOP.. If you want to paint the brick, do so as a first step. This sounds easy and CHEAP since Dollar Store Flower (Ivy and the rest) come in long ropes. Individual flowers can be used, interspersed if you wish.

Paint the brick(s) a base coat of one or many colors depending on your Decor. Then, with a Mandela stencil & using acrylic or "stencil" paint, stencil/paint on each side of the brick...whatever colors you choose, into the stencil pattern of the Mandela. Do not be concerned about continuing the stencil from one side of the brook to another. If you use many colors it will be beautiful. Once done, seal with a poly spray...tp protect your bricks painting. You can use each of these bricks,as a decorative door stop in front of your doors at home.
