Are you looking for a natural solution? Or willing to go the route of traps and/or poison? That's a decision that you'll have to make. In terms of natural solutions, you can build a fence, if you don't have one already. You can also try a pepper spray - mix equal parts of the following with water to create a spray, and spray every other day: black and white pepper, chili peppers and cayenne pepper.
If you don't want to make your own, you can also buy a natural repellant on Amazon!
Yes I agree with the pepper spray. However, if you have a cat ..... IT WON'T LIKE THE PEPPER SPRAY EITHER. Pepper spray is used on gardens to keep cats out.
Easy to make spray:
boil 1 quart of water - soon as it comes to a boil remove from heat
add 2 tablespoons cayenne pepper & 1/2 teaspoon of tabasco sauce let cool then pour in sprayer.
Another remedy is BLOODMEAL. They HATE the smell.
Sprinkle it around the borders of your yard.
It detours moles, squirrel's, & deer.
CAUTION:
Blood meal may also attract unwanted visitors, such as dogs, raccoons, possums and other meat eating or omnivorous animals.
Therefore, I'd use the pepper spray.
try putting spearment gum down their holes. You could also fill them with cement or rocks. I have heard that rodents abhor mint flavor.
My Labrador Retriever and my German Shepherd do a dandy job with no harsh methods ... other than their teeth of course! LOL, they hate them more than do I.
Get yourself a cat, they not only keep ground squirrels, but the mice, moles, voles, rabbits away as well.
