How to grow herbs successfully indoors?

I have a pot of Rosemary sitting in my kitchen window. I love the pot and I love the Rosemary. My herbs aren't dead, they just aren't thriving. Any tips on how to grow thriving, healthy herbs indoors? Which herbs can be successfully grown indoors?

They may have just outgrown the pot. They appear to be getting sufficient light.

Make sure you don't overwater and give them as much sunlight as possible. Also, now that the weather is warming up, open a nearby window (now and then) to supply necessary air circulation. Good air circulation decreases the chance of mildew which easily forms when herbs are watered too much and/or kept damp all the time and provided little air movement - these are all perfect recipes for mildew. Water well but only every seven to ten days. Some herbs prefer sandy soil (as many originate from the Mediterranean) so Google a plant's natural environment and duplicate that as much as possible.
