This suggestion was given us for our open desert property for mole/gopher problems. Try it, it may work for you. You use human hair, possibly from your local salon, and you push a hand full into the exposed holes. This is suppose to chase the culprits out because they can't utilize the hair for their needs, nor can they tolerate the texture of the hair and the smell of humans.
It has been proven human hair will not deter any animals.Try using castor oil
