First use a 2 components primer for tile 's or fluid surface. Read the instruction manuel carefully because you have the repaint between max hours.

For repaint use paint for wood.

  • I would hate to see you lose your security deposit over something like that. Perhaps you can use repositionable wallpapers to cover most of the parts that are not subject to water (non-shower walls). I would put throw rugs on the floor.

I agree with Elizabeth. Make sure you get permission from the landlord in WRITING before you do anything. I have various rentals and have had tenants do stuff without my knowledge or permission. They sued for the security deposit and lost. Tell me what you want to do and maybe I'll approve it or get it done.

Instead of fighting with it work with it. Introduce other colors for you floors and accessories. The idea is to draw the attention away from the eyesore. It is a rental so invest your money on things you can take with you. Why let the landlord profit from you doing work that should have been done by him.

If your landlord consents to you altering the tub, grab a box of tub and tile. Inexpensive and easy to use.
