Vinegar can serve as a great stain remover when in a pinch. Mix one teaspoon of vinegar into a few cups of water and spray or pour the liquid over the stain. Next, gently blot the garment and you should see the tea or coffee stain lifting.
You can also try to use baking soda to remove your coffee or tea stain. Do so by wetting the tea- or coffee-stained garment with warm water. Pour about a teaspoon of baking soda on the stain and rub it into the fabric. Allow the baking soda to settle for as long as possible before rinsing it off.
Oxi-Clean has a brand new product just for whites.....buy a plain white towel, soak it in a strong solution of the Oxi-Clean......place the soaked towel onto the stained pants. keep repeating till the stain is gone. You may want to leave the soaked towel on for a few hours at first, keeping the cuffs out of the process. Rinse the pants very thoroughly in your kitchen sink with the spray attachment holding the cuff up and out of the process. Then give them a clean cold water rinse in the washer. Good Luck. Jane
Bleach would tend to set the stain giving it a yellow tinge. If the vinegar or baking soda don't work try hydrogen peroxide.
If the above methods don't work soak the spot with lemon water, then lay it on your grass over night. Then allowvto lay in the sun to finish drying!
