I have 3 Blueberry plants and 3 Raspberry plants on the side of our house where it gets about 6 hours of sun per day. They are flourishing with auto watering that runs 3x per week for 15 min. I live in northern CA.

They need an acidic soil to flourish.

Yes, they they like acid soil, sawdust mixed in is good, or you can add special nutrients that contain the acid they need..... Also full sun is best... You will have the cover the berries with a net when they are close to ripening, or fight the birds for them!!!!!!

We spread old coffee grinds around our blueberries. We live in NE so there are chances we could get a frost before the end of May so we cover them with a light taup. We have 4 that are fenced in with a 4' chicken wire fence and use netting once they start to bloom.
