The install guys didn't take off for you???? Shameful. And lazy. Hope you did not tip them much. You need to find a corner and gently start peeling it off. Real easy once you start. Can you post a photo so we can advise the best place to start peeling the film off?
Try heating the plastic up with a blow dryer.
I'd call the improvement store you bought it from and explain the situation. Have them send the installers back to remove the plastic.
Try using scotch tape, wrap the tape around two fingers, sticky side out. Then dab at the edge of the plastic to see if you can get any of it loose or off.
