What kind of rod is hanging up?
yes you can as long as the new curtains have a big enough pocket to slip ober the flatter rod that is used for pleated curtains. You can slide off the little thingies that hold the hooks. Make sure you save them to put back when you move.

If the pinch pleated curtains open and close with a pull cord on a traverse rod, that rod is too wide for a rod pocket curtain.
