Aluminum wiring was permitted in the 1970's. It is not safe and most building codes now forbid it. If you are competent run new copper wiring, if not find a good electrician, getting referrals from neighbors or from Angie's list. The trickiest part is connecting the new wire to the box. I had an old house with tube and knob wiring which I replaced. The advantage of doing this is that you can map out your wiring and correct any design faults (all lights on one fuse). You may want to upgrade your service As well.
