How to cover a wall board in the kitchen

I have pre-papered wall boards in my house due to it being a modular home (trailer). The wall behind the stove has gotten grease stains and now the pattern is ruined because of my scrubbing it to remove the grease. Can this be covered with wallpaper or tile and not fall off from the grease stains on it? I have to do this myself and don't know how to install tile so paintable wallpaper would be my choice of options. Are there any other choices to cover this ugly wall board for the area behind the stove and as a back splash?

  • Perhaps research repositionable wall paper. There are some really pretty patterns and you can change it out when you don't like the look of it anymore.

You would need to remove the grease, prime the wall, and then put anything you want on it.

I agree. I live in my parent's vaction/retirement home which I received upon their passing. Had to make it my own. With not a ton of money, I used paint and love it!

i think peel and stick tiles might be a great option for you.

If your going to paper, I would be sure to use vinyl paper for easier cleaning. Another option is to use stick-on metal tiles usually chrome or copper. You could also get a piece of tin ceiling tiles at Lowes, cut and fit, glue on with construction adhesive. Finish edges with 1/4 round wood trim painted metallic to match.
