I would like to raise a cement slab 4 inches so it can be level with the rest of the house.
Gravel is the best way to do this. how big is the slab?
If the slab is level and stable. You can lay pavers on top of the slab. Use A stone construction adhesive and glue pavers on the perimeter of the slab. Then fill the field with pavers. Once all are down. sweep sand in between all the joints to seal and prevent movement.
There is a spray foam product on the market for raising concrete. A very economical fix!
Whatever you end up doing, make sure you have the proper slope away from the house . . . Otherwise when it rains your house will flood.
