It's a two-part epoxy paint that you mix together in the one-quart container (no additional container needed…just use the Part B container). You can use it on porcelain, ceramic, and fiberglass. I treated the tub just like I was painting a wall. You can also use Rustoleum Specialty Tub & Tile Refinishing Kit.

Yes it is possible to refinish, repaint, or restore an old tub. Here is some very valuable information I have learned the hard way đŸ˜³

I have had a bathtub repainted and a kitchen sink repainted and would not recommend either method that was done. Both were done by professionals and both have become a bigger eyesore. Because of their function, holding water, there is a 100% chance that water will get under the paint somewhere and somehow and begin to bubble and peel. If you do not have any other option but to paint the tub make absolutely positive in the preparation process that every bit of dust, dirt or anything else that could possibly be on the surface is cleaned off. Also make sure there is not any rust anywhere on the tub if it is a cast iron tub. Perfect preperation will give you a better finished tub. Paint on most anything can chip and when this happens where water is involved then that's where the problem begins. Always touch up any chip or scratch on the tub surface as soon as it happened and before water gets under the paint. Avoid using anything that can scratch or chip paint. It is very important to seal around the tub drain and overflow as well as where anything attaches to the tub. Be sure that you keep some of the paint used for the tub stored in a tightly sealed glass jar just in case you do need to touch up the tub. Good luck with your project.
