I would frame it, paint or stain to coordinate with other trim, and if possible, change the light fixtures.

Framing it in some way would work. A bit more difficult and if you have confidence in stenciling or tape masking, some edging/framing with a glass-etching cream could add some updating, just something simple, clean, understated, like three parallel lines framing the mirror. Big box stores have ready made frames for these mirrors. I suppose they are put on with an adhesive product. The Hollywood lights are dating the space. Find something a little more updated. http://thefrugalhomemaker.com/2015/02/10/how-to-frame-out-that-builder-basic-bathroom-mirror-for-20-or-less/
One tip--make sure you paint both sides of the frame if you go the DIY route. If you don't the mirror with reflect the back unpainted side and it will not look nice!
I would frame it too.... I used stick on tiles in a wood grain finish.. looks gorgeous!
You could frame it with small tiles that come in a sheet. Some have sticky backs. I would also change the light fixtures. You will be amazed what these little touches will do to transform your bathroom!
I used simple painted 1x4 lumber to make a frame. It made my mirror look brand new!
Frame it with wood grain or narrow crown molding
There is a company that makes custom mirror frames & it is inexpensive. They send you the material to attach too. I found it on Hometalk a few months ago but forgot what the name of the company. You most likely could search on hometalk.
