Temporary fencing- anyone have any ideas?

I have a 2 yr old granddaughter and dogs lose in the neighborhood. The city won’t let me up a permanent fence. I have 80 ft. of corrugated metal I would like to use. Anyone have any ideas?

  • I made some short sections of fence out of pallets. I put "feet" on them every now and then so they would stand up. They cover my garbage cans in the driveway. You could add the metal on the face of them.

I would use temporary fence stakes and screw the corrugated metal to the stakes. Maybe if the if the city sees the temporary fence they'll make an exception and allow a "better looking" permanent fence.

No ideas for your fencing but you should contact your city fathers about loose dogs. They don't seem to want to protect children where you are.

Had there been any previous fencing in the yard that you could just "update?" Various hardware stores carry 4-6 feet of permanent fencing panels. We have our backyard enclosed with traditional aluminum fencing and purchased a 50 ft. long dark green screen that is attached to the fencing by plastic tie-downs (or alternatively could use rope to attach it. If you placed the fencing panels with 1 ft. distance between them, perhaps with the addition of the screening would make the fence less obtrusive for your neighbors, thereby permitting the HOA to accept fencing that is nonobtrusive. Just a thought. Good luck!
