We sprayed it with hot water and let it sit for a couple minutes and then it just rolled right off when scraped. It's not hard, just messy!

Good luck and WEAR A MASK!!!

We removed popcorn ceiling from an old house. PLEASE wear goggles and a mask. You can dry scrap with a large putty knife, but we emptied the room and laid tarps everywhere, then sprayed water from a garden sprayer and used a long handled concrete sraper to avoid using a ladder to stand on. It is a very sticky and messy job but easy. You may need to spot sand after everything dries for a couple of days, then PRIME the ceiling before painting. I tried to 'paint' my parents popcorn ceiling but it sucks up all the paint and makes it thicker and ugly, and makes scraping it almost impossible. Wet scraping is the best.
