I am afraid of spiders but I realize they are helpful in keeping other insects away (I keep telling myself that!). I use peppermint oil when I travel to third world countries and apply drops around the hotel, house, etc. It works well! I don't do this in my own house as I don't have a real issue with the one or two that I see occasionally.
I have a bug vacuum. Works great especially if I discover a spider at night . It has a compartment that the spider or bug stays in until morning when you can let it go. It has three different speeds so you don't have to worry about damaging small or delicate bugs or spiders. I hope they still sell the bug vacuums.
This summer has been crazy with houseflies... what is the best way to get rid of them? I've been chasing them around with a swatter, but there has to be a better way....

You can also have the exterior of your home sprayed with a eco friendly formula that helps keep them out. It won't hurt animals and really helps.
