what exactly are you trying to accomplish? ?What is the desk made of?
We love a good makeover project! Here's some inspiration from our blog:
Well, strip the paint off and show off the wood with a stain. Paint it the color of your choice. Change the hardware (drawer knobs/pulls). Do some fun decoupage on the top of the desk, like an old world map. Get or make desk accessories like a pencil cup, plant pot/saucer, picture frame or blotter. Have fun!
Let your needs dictate your choices. I have painted to coordinate/match a room; or stained to match furniture. You can add a center keyboard drawer. You can covert a large bottom drawer to a file drawer. I have put desks on rollers. I have made them look like metal with Rustoleum Hammered paint, I have changed ugly legs. You can decorate top to look like marble, tortoise shell, mosaic whatever your imagination comes up with. I have even done the tops in leather for a classic manly desk.
