We had a mulberry tree when I lived in NJ growing up. My dad would trim it after the berries were mostly done. I remember my mom making jam once but it was a heck of a lot of work to gather and pick through the berries. Have to wear rubber gloves unless you want to be purple for a few days.
oooo - been there, done that! We had a very prolific mulberry in Toronto. Rather than making jam, I made a simple sauce which everyone enjoyed over icecream
I made pies
It makes good jelly.
