Just hose it off or use a pressure washer on the low setting
You didn't post a picture, but I'm guessing shampooing is out? If pressure washing does the job consider adding a colorful runner in that area to prevent further wear and tear.
Use a milld soap mixed with water and a scrub brush, power washing will most likely ruin the carpet .
Thanks all, never thought of power washing, even the jet setting on my hose nozzle.
By the way, carpet is from Costco. We have one fully exposed on back deck, still looks like new after 3 years.
I use my floor shampooer on the rugs and floors inside as well as out. I have only used the Hoover Floormate. Have not tried the others. I like the thought of using the pressure washer on the carpet outside. Let us know if that works for you. Good luck...
Besides pressure washing it, we have used mild dish soap (dawn) a firm bristle push broom and water hose. We wet it down, dilute some soap in a bucket and pour it on different areas then spread it around with the broom. You can brush firmly where it needs it most. Then rinse off with the hose. If you have a squegee, use that to get excess water out. Hang it over something to let it dry. We have had our carpets come out like brand new doing this.
