Are you looking for a bulb and perennial mix, I find this is best, early bulbs then build up garden to bloom as season progresses. The zixe of your garden, its location to the sun and your zone are all important when considering what to plant.
There are so many factors to consider in planting a "four season garden".
The amount of light the plant would get each day.... how much space you have to fill and of course the colors and size and height of the plants that you find pleasing are just some of the criteria. Here is a site i found to be helpful:
