Ceiling stencil- What do you think?

I'm cautiously planning on painting a stencil design on the tray ceiling in my foyer. It's approx 5 x 8 ft. Any tips on: 1)having 4 'raw' edges come out right 2)painting around light fixture (can't take it down) and 3)using sticky-tab for the corners of the stencil rather spray adhesive. Also I prefer the authentic and irregular look and color variation of a traditional stencil brush but most info I read show a roller. Comments?

This video shows how to stencil around a light fixture. I think you'll find it really helpful!

'pounce' the brush like the video shows for that. Using a roller would be good if you were in a hurry but it can also cause paint to bleed around the pattern like mine did last night.

Yes! The pounce is what I want to do but it seems like most people roll it
