A little more info would be helpful....is the water coming from the yard first, do you have a porch or stoop, or are you at ground level?
From the yard and carport. There is a slight slope, which causes the water to drain right in front of the door. I'll send a photo later in the morning.
Have you heard of 'porous pavers'? They are GREAT! They come in many colors & can be placed over a graduated bed of sand & small rock with sand on top [to hold the pavers]. You can literally pour a pitcher of water on them & it goes directly through into the 'filtrate' & drains away! I would add pvc pipe with holes drilled into the top 1/3 so that is will absorb & carry the water away into another area that needs it. Or it can drain into a 5 or 6 gallon bucket buried in the ground that has holes drilled into it top & bottom [that will drain off accumulated water.
Need more information. Inside or outside? Inside, weather stripping, outside pour a slab pitched away from the door. Best I can do without more information.
Ground level. There is a carport, and the gutters are not the greatest. We are renting and I don't want to invest a fortune.
Best solution sounds like fixing the gutters and get the water draining a distance from the house. Will solve a number of potential problems you may not even see yet.
