If your Hydrangeas are not blooming it may be lacking in nutrients or they were pruned at the wrong time.
Prune only when dormant, in your case cut them all down to about 4 inches tall in the spring. Some produce flowers only on old wood some only on new wood. Keep them watered. For fun use 1/2 cup epson salt to 1 gallon of water after they have flowered and watch the colors change.....oh they always go back to the color you purchased!
we have had this issue as well, it could be that they are not getting enough sun and/or the ph level in the soil is not right. there is a lot of info on the internet and it would be best to search for where you live and how to feed hydrangeas
I have them in full sun, Laura. I have tried multiple remedies but to no avail. I had a few blooms about 5 years ago and they were only on the bottom of the bush. The leaves are so lush - very green and hardy, but no flowers! I have just about given up on them and am ready to dig them up and try something else!
What kind of hydrangeas do you have? Normally they don't like full sun, are they burning? I would fertilize them on a schedule, every 90 days at least. Check with your local gardening center for the correct formula.
What kind? I wasn't aware that there were different types.
There are many different varieties of Hydrangea. Do you know what your is or can you post a photo so more research can be done. Also what is you location, and how is your soil.
