How do you retouch bleached oak cabinets without refinishing entirely?
My most used cabinets are getting discolored by the door handles & won't come clean with normal polishing. Finish is dull & discolored.
Spray paint them with Rustoleims 2X paint available in a large assortment of color.
I had similar cabinets and applied wall paper to match the wallpaper on the surrounding walls. To ensure that it would not come off, I folded the wallpaper onto the inside of the doors and taped them with transparent packaging tape down the length of the doors. They have held up for 15 years and still look beautiful.
I found my 1942 cabinets for sale and installed them in my mid century home. I love them. We sanded them and painted them white with semi gloss paint house paint. They look beautiful. I would love to have them powder coated but for now they are perfect.
I did my floor in yellow and white linoleum squares and I have 1953 appliances. A 24" dishwasher fit perfectly in the space of one door of the lower cabinet. Perfect.
You are are so lucky.
Use refrigerator paint. Rustoleum, Giani
You could also get a 6" foam roller and paint them with Rustoleum. If you want smooth, just brush off with a good paintbrush after applying. If you leave unbrushed its slightly textured kinda like a power-coat finish.
