try smothering it with heavy black plastic. Cover it and weigh plastic down with bricks.
You can use Brush -b-gone providing there are no other plants or lawn involved.
I appreciate the responses, but let me add - I have a 1/2 acre of poison ivy...too much for plastic and would seemingly require a lot of Brush B Gone....I have a feeling that would be very expensive. Any cheap home remedies>???
Hire someone's goats
try plain cheap white vinegar on ivy , it works on growth between sidewalk cracks too. Good luck with poison ivy.
Easiest way is to keep cutting it down with a lawnmower or weed eater. Only depriving it of food from the leaves will kill it at it is rooted from end to end.
Second best way is to pull it up and then cut it down again and again as it spouts from the roots.
Third best way is to spray Round Up on it and then follow procedures above.
Hi Laurie, hope this helps you out.
