Padded & Nailhead Trim Harlequin Headboard DIY

It was time to makeover my Ikea headboard and turn it into something a bit more grown up.
A little 1/2" thick foam and cotton batting and I was ready to tackle my Ikea Malm headboard! I was able to do this with a basic JT-21 Staple gun. The nailhead trim comes in rolls so you're not pounding in one at a time!

Got my 1/2" Cushion Foam & Batting from FairfieldWorld.com. I've been obsessed with nailhead trim lately and grabbed that on Amazon. I glued the foam to the headboard with E-6000 Fabri-Fuse (btw, you could use plywood for the base, too)
Before the pillows......

Have a question about this project?
I love the gold leaves that are behind the headboard. Are they something you made yourself? Any information on them would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
